ETHOS SHUL TEAMLOCATIONBUILDINGLOCAL FACILITIESOUR STORY

Established in 1947, Wanstead & Woodford Synagogue has played an important role in shaping the local Jewish community. Our traditional ethos, excellent leadership and strong community spirit make Wanstead & Woodford a unique community to live in and visit.

ETHOS

Wanstead & Woodford Synagogue is a modern and inclusive Orthodox community, founded on traditional Jewish values and beliefs.
Our goal is to enrich our members' Jewish identity, education and practice through regular tefilla (prayer) and events and to be a community where everyone feels valued and welcomed.

Rabbi Fleischer is the spiritual leader of our community and provides religious direction and a strong focus on Torah learning. Our services are traditional and uplifting and we aim to make them accessible to all ages, backgrounds and levels of observance. As a Zionist community, we strongly support the State of Israel and celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut and Yom Yerushalayim along with the wider community.

We are a constituent member of the United Synagogue and are represented on the Board of Deputies of British Jews. We base our practice and guidelines on the Office of the Chief Rabbi and the London Beth Din.

SHUL TEAM

The shul is led by the Rabbi as well as an elected Executive and Board of Management.
